Colourful spectacle of jet skis at Mina Seyahi - The first heat of the Dubai Jet-Ski races held Saturday at Mina Seyahi saw over 75 jet ski riders and their machines dotting the beach-front ready to participate in an exhilarating sport of speed and skill.

Organised by the Dubai International Marine Club under the UAE Marine Sports Federation, the jet ski races in Dubai have seen tremendous support and interest not only from residents in the UAE but also from the GCC nations as well as from Japan.

About Foresight: Foresight’s is fighting blindness by helping find a cure for retinal diseases that make people go blind, such as Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) by supporting locally based and international research. We also aim to improve the lives of people who are visually impaired and blind in the UAE through many community initiatives. Ramadan Do’s and Don’ts: The local authorities become especially sensitive to social faux pas throughout Ramadan. Below are a few guidelines to keep you from offending anyone:

1. Don’t eat or drink in public before sunset. This includes consuming anything in your car / taxi and eating chewing gum.
2. Don’t smoke in public.
3. Don’t wear revealing clothes throughout Ramadan.
4. Don’t buy alcohol for a Muslim. While this rule applies all year round, penalties for breaking this rule are higher during Ramadan.
5. When at “iftar” (breaking the fast after sunset), don’t begin eating before anyone else. The communal prayer will signify the beginning of “iftar”.
6. Don’t try to coerce a Muslim into breaking his or her fast.
7. Don’t show public displays of affection.
8. Don’t raise the volume on your stereo or TV during prayer times.
9. Don’t swear in public.
10. Don’t stare or point at Emirati women. This is a general rule, but again,locals are especially sensitive to prying eyes during Ramadan.

The first 10k Abras Run was hosted at the Mina Seyahi on Friday, 23rd May. The event was extremely successful and attracted 160 plus participants to run the new course, which was designed specifically for the race. Participants started at the breakwater and were led on a beautiful run around the marina and through the grounds of the complex.
